Don’t just take my word for it, here are Hill’s own: The kingdom is being invaded by Roman-like soldiers. I did feel the ending felt a bit rushed, but that being the only downfall I had with the book couldn’t give it a lesser rating.

I first read this when it was published a few years back and fell in love with the Icemark. I don’t know, maybe this changes in the sequels, but I am not sure cry of the icemark I am going to check it. The result is a supremely satisfying read which really deserves to be called a page-turner.

It’s also well done militarily, with enough to allow you to I can’t even express how much I love this book!
